Comprehensive Economic Development StrategyThis CEDS presents the overall comprehensive planning and action process engaged in by the Southside Planning District Commission. Approval of this document by the US Economic Development Administration (EDA) establishes the Southside Planning District’s eligibility for EDA financial assistance. In addition, this document provides an evaluation of economic conditions, which is useful in making future development decisions. The CEDS is updated annually to reflect changes throughout the year. Beginning in 2012, the CEDS for the prior year will be presented to the SPDC Executive Committee for adoption at the January meeting. The draft of the next year's CEDS will be presented for review at the June meeting. As a part of the CEDS development process, each county and town is asked to provide their list of projects, prioritized, that SPDC will assist with in the next fiscal year. The CEDS prioritizes these projects into a regional priorities list. This list is also adopted by the Executive Committee each year. The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, adopted April 28, 2011 can be downloaded here. For more information contact Andy Wells at awells@southsidepdc.org |
